Delicious, creamy, organic raw milk from our rare breed Shetland cow-with-calf microdairy
Raw milk has not been processed in any way. It has not been pasteurised, homogenised or standardised; it’s just filtered through a simple paper filter, bottled and cooled. This preserves all of the inherent flavour and nutrients of the milk, including the full complex of fatty acids and amino acids. Raw milk also has a layer of cream on top that can easily be shaken to mix it back in, unless you’d like to drink it first as a treat!
There is research that suggests raw milk may have significant health benefits, especially for those with asthma, eczema and gut health issues. Also it may be better tolerated by those with milk intolerances than processed milk
Our milk is certified organic by the Soil Association, the certifying body with the most rigorous standards. Organic milk is better for you (and the planet!) than industrially produced milk. Organic milk contains around 50% more beneficial omega-3 fatty acids than non-organic milk and higher levels of iron, vitamin E and some of the carotenoids. Our organic milk contains…just milk! No pesticides, herbicides, GMO’s or antibiotics, just pure milk from happy, healthy cows
We milk only once a day, the rest of the milk is drunk by the calves – straight from their mums, just as nature intended!
Our herd is 100% grass fed, grazing on our ancient wild flower meadows for most of the year. During the winter months we feed hay made from our organic meadows.
Our milk is bottled in glass bottles – this helps avoid plastic waste and also plastic taint. Storing milk in plastic bottles changes the taste of milk, and substances like phthalates may be absorbed from the plastic. Phthalates negatively influence human health, and children are particularly sensitive to its effects. Studies have linked phthalate exposure to childhood obesity, diabetes, allergies, asthma, and autism spectrum disorders
Please rinse and return bottles and lids
